UPS (UPS) Invests $120 Million in Robots That Can Unload Delivery Trucks
I don't understand how UPS is allowed to reduce the number of jobs and replace with robots.
Those are union jobs that this is replacing.
If a supervisor stepped into those trucks and unloaded it, there'd be a free grievance, but if it's a robot, no problem?
So many better uses for robots that money could be invested in.

Moves like this one can create a major ouch to many pension plans.
These plans depend on all the p'ters who never stay long enough to get themselves a pension.
All those funds get deposited into the main fund from which everyone draws.
Less unloaders = less money put in.
