UPS announces largest network reconfiguration, Cadillac location to close on Feb. 27
Damn That's in my division. We already had four buildings closed last year.
Snow delay?
All these building shut downs remind me of the time UPS decided to close all of the satellite centers.
The overall idea was to develop the centralized hub concept.
Satellite centers were small centers that handled just a local area, some places they were just an open parking lot where feeders unloaded directly into the PCs.

i see FedEx covering way larger areas than we do. Yes I know they have less volume but technology is changing on how they can deliver on way to a drivers area and back. Not as much wasted miles. They are also doing the deferred delivery in areas and am sure it will be all over.
The center 45 minutes away is absorbing 60 percent of the work. That center is averaging an 11 hour pd day. Brutal
