How many of these rules for respecting the flag are broken every day and why are they not being targeted? Will VFW, American Legion, boy scouts, etc. be charged for holding flag burning ceremonies in accordance with flag code? Will the flag code be updated to no longer recommend burning the flag?
I'm not convinced there is a difference. There is nothing in the flag code ranking acts of disrespect to the flag as more or less disrespectful. According to flag code wearing a T-shirt with the flag on it is disrespectful to the flag, have you ever done that? Should all acts disrespectful to the flag not be treated equally? I propose manufacturers of thin blue line flag magnets for your car should be persecuted, they are disrespecting our flag.

There is a difference between burning a flag to purposefully be disrespectful and having a ceremony to dispose of an old flag.
